Initial treatment for 'Room 032'
Title:
Our title came about when, we were planning our concepts. we originally wanted a really long room name like '1284' but then we realised it was unrealistic to have that many rooms in one college. we all agreed we liked it as it was short and simple and very easy to remember. we wanted something that would be somewhat unique as it has to stand out and draw attention, hence why we decided to use numbers rather than letters.
the typography for the title came from inspiration from existing movie posters like, 'alice, sweet, alice' or one of the 'sinister' posters, the whole distorted writing really appealed to us as it looked like it had hidden meanings.

Plot:
We made our plot by using all our original ideas from our individual concepts, and then we put them all together. Luckily we all wanted to have our genre be psychological and supernatural so it was very easy to start planning from there. We decided to meet up and then give our ideas and write them down on paper and from there we started to build our plot up to something we felt confident to present.
Synopsis:
The synopsis was just a rounded up version of the plot, to stop us giving all the details away and making it easier to explain the general idea and run of our trailer.
Production Company:
Making our production name was really easy, as we wanted something that signified unity. once we found that and all agreed on something we liked, we moved on to designing the look of our logo. our logo is really simple, classy and straightforward we decided we would always write it in 'fancy' handwriting to show it off, and our logo be very simple also, we go ideas from warner bros.
Target Audience:
Our target audience is young people aged from 15-26, we did this because horror is very popular within the young community and is always an attraction because of the short lived thrill; which is why we based most of our characters on young people and students who attend college or school.
although males are more likely to be interested in horror movies due to the antagonists usually being men and the stereotypical victim being female, males are more likely to be drawn to horror and also because of the violence in the movies too.
cinema generally is an attraction to young people because of the price and availability, it is a cheap and entertaining thrill.

Character Profiles:
our character profiles came off of stereotypical teens and people. for example we have used a blonde as a victim to fulfil the stereotype of 'the dumb blonde' or 'the high maintenance princess', that always needs to be rescued, we've also made the hero brunette the hero and the tomboy who is brave and loyal. so we really tried to make it easy to relate to the audience. we then looked at conventions of a psychological/supernatural and then found that we would also need a featuring priest as it is very common for example in insidious, the conjuring and annabelle.
Usp:
usp or unique selling point is where we have something that will make us stand out from the rest or give us an advantage.
our group chose to make some scenes or shots in our trailer so iconic or unforgettable that, that would be our usp, for example having scenes like a girl being dragged out of the shot.

Influences:
We took our influences from a lot of movies and books and incorporated into one idea. our main influences was from the movie Dorian grey as we liked the whole idea of hiding a really dark secret and his sins lying and being shown through the image. so that was our main inspiration.
because we wanted to do the genre psychological/supernatural we watched or read up on existing popular ones like the ring, the conjuring etc.
